viewtopic.php?f=82&t=282237 just did ours a few months ago. It had never been apart. took a week or so soaking it in oil and pressing a little more every day.

with mine in the gun, I loosened the barrel nut, placed a chain down the bore toward the trail and pulled with comealong attached to the trail while heating the hoops. I then tackled the sleigh next.

What are the "copper plugs" the TM states need to be installed before the barrel nut when installing the sleigh??

the copper plugs are at the bottom of the SET SCREW on the large barrel nut...they are a sort of locking device to keep the large nut from backing off and loosening the barrel while firing.....if they are not installed, driving the set screw down to lock the large nut in place will damage the threads on the barrel......lead will also work.

Bigger problem is the dumb sheet that tries to unscrew the nut without loosening the set screw and scrapes off half an inch of barrel threads in the process.....
