WTK info on 175mm EX 1 MOD 0 naval gun case

Post by john galt » Fri Apr 21, 2017 6:10 am

Does anyone on the board own one or know anyone that does? Also, does anyone know what an approximate value of one might be. I have found some info about them but it is dated 2010 and stated that they believed maybe half a dozen in existence but I am not sure that is accurate. There were statements from two owners of cases on the thread from 2010 on british ordnance collectors website, so I am trying to see if maybe someone on the board here might have one.

Thanks for the reply, any idea how much they might be worth? I am aware they are collectible only. I picked one up at a gun show a month ago, so if the two people from the other thread I found on the web still have theirs, then we know there are at least 4 out there. Makes me wonder how many cases were produced since the info I have found said 202 projectiles were fired during testing. Did they use new cases for each firing or reload, and what was done with the cases at the end of testing/the project?
