Hauling CCKW and Water Trailer?

Post by TMClauss » Sun Apr 20, 2014 3:58 pm

I am looking to purchase a CCKW and a water trailer. Does anyone haul a CCKW and trailer? What are the specs on the trailer and how do you arrange the water trailer?

I figure I am going to need a 1T pickup to tow a gooseneck trailer. I am looking for assistance from those with experience hauling larger MVs to help me determine what I need to haul the truck and water trailer.

Thanks from an MV newbie.

You are looking at somewhere around 12-13,000 Lb for the two. if it has a winch. I would not use a 1 Ton truck.

The water buffalo weighs about 3495 full of water. It is illegal in many states to tow it full as many states require service brakes on any trailer over 3000 lbs. I live in NH and I personally got the word 'trailer' added to the definition of antique. Of the 1st 20 plates issued, I has 12!

If it not completely full of water you can feel it sloshing in the CCKW

If it is pretty full of water and you jerk the lunette up to disconnect it, it will go over backwards!
