Then the wheel bearings, master cylinder. Then the radiator, the water pump, fuel pump, carb . Next thing you know you got the body clean off the frame. Holy crap 10 15 grand and two years later you got something. With no regrets either.Been there done that. Heck still doing it. Got one in my back yard i brought home in just about the same shape as this one.
I do wish it was a closed cab though.
This truck is in better mechanical shape than the one you bought, and has had more recent Gov't use it is a well maintained Euro return.

Nice looking truck, wish I had the $$ & the facility to keep it in, that would make a great rig to travel to events in & camp out in the bed - I believe my Jeep would fit back there as well! Good luck selling it, don't let the naysayers get you down, it's just going to take time in a depressed economy.

Ben, while i do agree most of the European returns are in better shape having experianced that myself "gov't'' maintenance has not been done on these trucks since at least 1985 if not longer. Thats 25 years of neglect!
Besides how do you know that truck is in better shape than mine? Also i paid less than half of what he is asking for this truck.

I followed your questions about your truck before and after delivery with interest. It was a special order for the USN with 11.00X18 tires. You were quite excited to say the least.

Thanks Ben for remembering. I'm still excited. Its coming along nice and slow. You know time and money. Not enough of either.Just got all the wheel cylinders and soft brake lines replaced, bearings repacked, oils seals. Not to mean to steal the thread. On that note im gonna post a thread on USN hood numbers, and would appreciate your input.

Can you post pics of your entire collection? It would be nice to see what reasonably priced vehicles look like if Bill's CCKW was so overpriced.
