Joel,

I contacted you a while back to inquire about some of the small parts that I thought I'd need to install the used Harrison heater I found. While disassembling the heater yesterday, I found a plastic baggie inside, with the small parts I thought I'd need. They appear identical to the parts shown in the installation manual, which seems to lend further confirmation that what I bought was for the CCKW/G506, and not for the somewhat similar looking CJ2 & CJ3B heater. :D

Of course there has been recent revelations that any heater with the round boss on the lower right corner is "post-war", as war-time heaters had no such boss. I'm just happy to have the correct heater, and know that I'll appreciate it on those cold Illinois days!

BTW, do you happen to know the vintage of your Harrison heater? I have photos of a NOS heater, as it was being unpacked for the first time since it was re-packed in 1955. I don't seem to have a photo of the front, and don't recall if they were pictures I sent to you a number of years back when you were looking for one...

These heaters for the CCKW Open/Closed Cab are 1944 and later vintage, they are made specifically for the CCKW firewall configuration and not CJ 2A/3A, or 3B Jeep which are different. If anyone remarks that heaters such as these with "round bosses" are post war and not war time, there is no proof.
It should fit your G-506, the only concern is the firewall mounted oil filter which may or may not be in the way.
The early 40's GM trucks had a similar "DeLuxe" Heater with a handle for a damper for the Defroster Air. I doubt that the pundits filling you with doubt are old enough to have witnessed a Civilian Truck with the heater the CCKW kit was patterned after. I used to ID GM heaters in order to supply OEM Delco blower motorsback in the old days when the parts were current. I still have the heater Motor List somewhere, but the OEM motors are obsolete.

The installation of the OEM Harrison Heater in the Closed Cab does require removal of the Storage Box or Fire Extinguisher on vehicles that have them mounted under the dashboard.
This is the CCKW Hot Water Heater installation in my CCKW.

Photos taken in 2007 during the change over from Open to Closed Cab.
The Heater Kit in these pics is WWII surplus and was originally installed when my CCKW was Open Cab.
Kit comes with factory instructions and template for drilling the holes in the firewall. Very simple to install.

Looks the same as the Willys 2nd style heater for CJ-2a, all CJ-3a, and early 3b. Have one in my CJV-35 and one spare. No difference to me. Model on stamped plate- Harrison #441. As mentioned, not the DELUXE model with ONE duct and front model defroster. Just my observation of the pics.
