G506 bed

Post by Loganr » Fri Mar 02, 2018 4:24 am

I ran across a Chevy bed on the loose
It is surplus to my needs
Tail gate and chain locker door are there
I have not inspected it close
If there is any interest I can check it out and offer for it

Logan, I have had my hands on 5 beds personally, 3 of them I have kept. Two others were found for friends. This may seem like quite a few and that they are readily available, but the span of time for finding the first through the last one has been 23 years. They are becoming harder and harder to locate if they are not already attached to a truck.
Are you able to post photos? There are many Chevy owners here with good opinions on what a guy might expect to pay for a bed. They weigh just under 675 lbs. for an all steel one and a composite bed is even less, around 375 lbs. with out the wood. The first one I bought cost me $100.00 and was VERY rough. The last one I bought cost $548.32, was in a junk yard in Vancouver Wa. and I sold it last summer for the same price. Also, if you are thinking about putting a Chevy together, grab the bed now. There are plenty of cab and chassis trucks out there that need a bed. I hope this helps. :)

Was thinking of passing it on it's a steel bed the interesting thing is some one grafted another piece of bed on it to make it longer
So picture cutting a 506 bed off at the last stake pocket
And welding it on to another bed.
This bed has two plates where the taillight are.
I offered him $100 he didn't seem excited but never came back with a different price have to let him think on it
If something changes I will post it
Thanks
