Just need the replacement bulb.
This is the oval "ruby" bulb as used on the left (drivers side) of the vehicle, used for the service tail and service stop light.
Vintage power wagons and Midwest military sold out.
Only thing available is to buy the complete unit, housing and both lights.
6v units still available. It's the 12v units I can't find.
Anyone have a lead and/ or a few bulbs for sale?
Thanks

Re: Wtb: 12volt service tail/service stop bulb
I was able to pick up a full set of 12v GPA bulbs for my GPW on eBay. Not sure they are still available, but have you looked into modifying an existing 6v bulb to fit a 12v led? I believe there is a thread on there somewhere for doing that. Might be worth the effort if the 12v bulbs aren't available anymore.

Try Brent Mullins. He had a bunch at one time and I have bought several from him.

Re: Wtb: 12volt service tail/service stop bulb
It was bound to happen, the stock of 12 volt service tail/stop bulbs has dried up in the U.S. I was told that alot of jeep owners over the years converted to 12 volts which helped speed up the depletion rate.

Hello,
Are you still looking for a 12 volt bulb? I may have a spare one. Let me know.

Hate to suggest you desolder the joints and open it up with a screw driver, solder in a new 12V bulb from the autoparts store for $2. (keeping the contacts oriented the same way as the old one...) and resolder the case tabs down.
My Command Car and jeep tailights are still fine after 27 years following that abuse.
Or are you seeking it for the little inked stamp stating "12V"
Takes about the same amount of time that changing a tire does, and less than the cost of mailing a light bulb.

Re: Wtb: 12volt service tail/service stop bulb
Well after calling all of the usual suspects who deal in MV parts, and calling any leads suggested from pm notes and responses here, there are no longer any more 12v bulbs at the suppliers.
Wait that's not 100% true.. i can get a 12v bulb I seek IF I buy an entire NOS tail light assembly. That's the only way VPW and others I talked to will sell them. Complete, in an assembly NOS.
It appears as if the suggestion of replacing /reworking is a good alternative and I'm going to try this next. After all, I have one bulb as my immediate need, but as time rolls on my other trucks will need them too.
Thanks all for the tips and leads
