Re: Mud flap question
No, the mud flaps for the Chevy are bigger than for the GTB. GTB flaps are a little narrower and not as tall.

Re: Mud flap question
Would the ribs be the same distance apart? Is it possible to modify them to GTB size? Thanks for answering me BTW.

Re: Mud flap question
Think you will find that GTB Cargo Splash Shields are same width as G-506, they both use the same 7.50 X 20 Wheels and NDT Duals. Not sure on height tho.
What is the distance between the bolt holes on the GTB Cargo body? I have a G-506 Splash Shield on my CCKW.

Re: Mud flap question
Thank you Joel. I will see if I can have the guy with the GTB at the Fredrick Army Air Base measure his and go from there. Of course, I will have to ask lt.luke if he knows who he is. Unless someone on the G has one and does not mind measuring it for me. Oh, and thank you D.R.H.

Re: Mud flap question
Ben is wrong. I helped pintelhook11over do some horse trading for a friend for a GTB bed in an effort to eventually find a correct Budd bed for our friends' Chevy. We compared the GTB to the Chevy splash guards and they indeed were a bit smaller.

Re: Mud flap question
How much smaller? CCKW and G-506 are 20"W X 25"H, and the GTB shares the same Wheels and 7.50 X 20 Tires. The two grooves are roughly 10" apart. They require the same width Splash Shields as G-506/G-508 be effective
NOTE:
Identical numbered splash guards can vary 1/8: in height and Width.

Did he toss the mud flaps, or does one of the guys have a set I could buy? Thanks.

Oh, and are the two embossed groves the same distance apart? If so, I could take the repro bigger ones and cut them down. Thanks again.

Re: Mud flap question
Mudflap, I talked with my friend Cody a.k.a. Pintelhook11over last night over the phone. He did remember about the GTB splash guards and told me that He wrote thread here some time ago offering them for sale/trade. Someone in Europe wanted to buy them, but after finding that the shipping was going to over $500 U.S. the buyer passed on the deal.
Cody then found out that a member here on the "G" named (Pooner) needed some for a GTB that a museum in Arizona was restoring. They have a Consolidated PB4Y-2 Privateer that is flown to Cal-Aero field in Chino Cal. for the airshow in May. Robert, (Pooner) is the guy who received them. Cody also recalled that the splash guards were only about an inch and one half smaller in the width and two inched smaller in the height. Not much difference than the Chevy's.
I cannot tell you for sure if the "V" ribs are in the same location as the Chevy splash guards, but I seem to recall they were because we laid the GTB S.G. right on top of the Chevy S.G. and they kinda meshed. Mind you they were both a little bent up due to use and age.
As we ALL are aware, the GTB is a low silhouette vehicle and would only make sense that the splash guards would be a little smaller. Ben has offered a great suggestion to have a GTB owner post up some pics. with dimensions of an original S.G. as I am not well versed at all to the intricacies of the GTB. I know Chevy's, but not as well as some of the other boys here on the "G". I hope this helps you Mudflap.
And oh, how ironic this thread is huh! Here we are having a conversation about MUDFLAPS with a member of the "G" whose name is MUDFLAP . I think it's pretty great!!

Re: Mud flap question
Thank you both. D.R.H. who is mudflap? You? Also, can you post a picture on here of the G506 mud flap with a tape measure across and top to bottom? I hate to ask but, I don't know any of the Chevy guys. I can then have someone post the GTB with a tape measure so all can see. It may help someone in the future as well. Thanks again.

Re: Mud flap question
Sorry '43GPW, I looked at your thread title. I have been working some insane hours and training a new guy at the same time and was just plain tired. There IS a member here who goes by the handle of "Mudflap" though.
My friend Cody found and then sent me the link to his thread on the GTB splash guards, they are in fact a LOT smaller than I had remembered. You'll have to blow the photos up to see the measurements. Here it is, http://g503.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=25&t=258491. Thanks Cody for your help.
I cannot help with the Chevy types, I do not own any just yet. Some of the Chevy guys are; Kelly, Foresrtyforevr, Retro-roco. I think that Ben's measurements are correct though, He has a SWB Jimmy to take accurate measurements from. Dave.
