Chev 1 1/2 ton parts needed

Post by Hanselandgretel » Mon Sep 18, 2017 8:16 am

I need an expansion plug for the transmission, 2.44" OD. I did not realize this was going to be a hard to find item so I wrecked it taking it out! Help! Thanks Al Hansel 507-528-2780

Are you positive on your OD measurement, don't see anything that size? It may broaden your search if you look for a "welsh or welch plug".

Here are some, but not your desired size:

Yes the dimension is correct, 2.44. I have not found anything at either of the major plug makers, that is why I posted it here. Thanks

Is this is a disc type of plug or cup type. If it is a disc type your only option would be to machine down a 2.500" disc plug as that is the closest size available that I can see. That is very doable.
