I'm posting this not to promote the sale (it's not mine, but does look to be in really good shape.) Rather, I just wanted to see what folks thought about the early grille and instruments, yet the battery on the exterior and what appears to be a mid-war bed? You think this is the original configuration or the result of depot rebuilds?

Re: Early G506?
Looks like it is basically an early 1941 truck with a couple of ZP or N series parts. The cab, running boards, dash, rear window are all coincident with a YP truck. The battery and winch bumper don't fit the truck but everything else does. It is most definitely NOT a 1944 truck. Too bad there are no engine bay images for more details/clues. Why do people that sell trucks suck so badly at photography?
You should buy this one John, it is a great restoration candidate and the price is good. She's got good bones. Who cares if you have a postage stamp sized lot? Your neighbors will most likely end up hating you anyway...might as well give them a reason.

Ha, then you're primed to go, who cares about VOC's anymore? That one is a good one. I can hook you up with a transporter. If I close my eyes, I can envision you navigating the old girl around DuPont Circle at rush hour! I bet even the super aggressive Beemer's would yield. I would pay money to see it.
