WC-15 Data Plate Information

Post by Kurt » Wed May 17, 2017 9:45 am

I needs some help with information for a 1941 Dodge WC-15.

I am stamping the data plate that reads:
DODGE TRUCK DIVISION OF CHRYSLER CORPORATION DETROIT, MICH.

In the middle of the data plate there is a section that is labeled
ARM OR SERVICE MAINTAINING TRUCK.

I am unable to completely read the information from the old tag.
It looks like it could be O.C.M. CORPS. But I am not completely
sure about the O & C due to the stamp bounced when it was originally
done.

I have done a search on line but have not come up with anything that
is definitive.

Can anyone clear this up for me?

Thank you,

Kurt

Kurt
Your data tag should read QMC for the U.S. Army Quartermaster Corps early in the war they had the responsibility for procurement of all vehicles (1940-1942) and then as the war got larger and went on longer they became over burdened and all vehicles become the problem of the Ordnance Department in 1943-1945
