Roberto,
Given the materials and cost constraints you are working with, I think you did a fantastic job. Yes it is not the braided harness, but your work matches the character of the 1940's period very well. You are quite creative. You are also very close to driving...

Roberto, beautiful work.
I am always amazed at what can be done with limited resources. I often see and hear from fellow near to me that can only make excuses why they cannot restore their vehicles for one reason or another. I have seen many excellent examples done with basic tools, equipment and space, often rebuilt in nothing more than a simple, open driveway or basic shelter.

Thanks for the words of encouragement. According to an old proverb: Necessity is the mother of invention.
This restoration would not be possible without the great help I received here at G503. The forum was a source of very important information in restoring my Willys MB and my Bantam Trailer and today is also the G-4112.
Thank you!!!

Paul,
good question. I've put so many dates and I could not keep. I hope to leave almost ready by the end of the year. This year. lol
There are still many parts to be manufactured and others to be restored and the time I spend is not much.

Isn't that always the case.Roberto Amboni wrote:There are still many parts to be manufactured and others to be restored and the time I spend is not much.
Anyway, a wiring harness means you past an important milestone towards moving/driving.
Keep up the good work, and have fun.

After several attempts I managed to remove the steering wheel to its restoration. viewtopic.php?f=25&t=267673
Here are some images of the steering wheel and the beginning of the process of restoration.
A strange number 600 engraved hand for a soldier during the lifetime of this truck.
This number 20 is engraved at the bottom of the wheel. It is a recording made at the factory
and indicates the wheel size, 20 inches.
Now I have to wait for the weather to improve, today's raining, to paint in satin black.

Roberto,
Good you got the steering wheel to come loose. The steering wheel "key" is unique, I will send you an image the next time I come across one.
So what does the "600" mean? "been here 600 days'", "going home in 600 days", "600 curves in the road". You may have to create a good story.
Sounds like you are having a good time.

After a long time without giving news , I'll put some photos of the restoration works that are in progress.
The steering wheel was painted in Satin Black (I'm not the pictures on my computer. I place later). Here he is with the PU Primer.
The repair work has to hide the scars and cracks that he acquired during his long lifetime.

Another progress was the battery box . I did the same with the information here forum and the photos found . The measurements were obtained with rules of proportions and also the battery model I'll use.
The G- 4112 battery is under the cabin, but there exists the hidrovac ( was installed in the field during their military life) . I installed the battery box in the same location of the later models.
It was not a perfect replica , but it was very similar .
