Re: G-506 - Restoration - Brasil
When I bought the Chevrolet, it came with the grille of the later models. Last year I received the visit of a friend, colonel of the reserve of the Brazilian Army, who lives 200 miles from my city, which also collects military vehicles. I talked about the Chevrolet restoration process and that there were still a few pieces missing for his correct year, one of them the serpentine grille. I was surprised when he told me that he had a serpentine grille on the wall of his garage. I received the same gift to complete the restoration correctly.

Another part that was reproduced from photos here of the forum was the external mirror support. With the hinge measures and through mathematical rules, I made a cardboard model. From a steel plate I tried to cut it myself, but without success.
After analyzing the problem of the cut of the sheet of steel, I opted to use a strip of steel in the measure of the mold. I cut the small parts and then joined them with welds. Of course, it required some adjustments until you got the final result. It was not as elegant as the original part, but I'll have time to find one.

Excellent work Roberto,
Considering that all you had were pictures to go by, you did a great job.

The internal rearview mirror holder is much simpler to manufacture. As previously commented everything was done based on photos from this forum.
