darn.. that's nice Bob.... really nice.. I forgot how NICE it was!
Cant wait for the G-friend to see what yours looks like, and what mine will hopefully compare too
I plan to use "subdued" paint for the stars and hood numbers as well. too me, the white is too, well, white...

over the weekend began assembling the headlight buckets. I bought a NOS pair of internal harnesses months ago and am now in the process of doing this job
See attached:
first the NOS internal headlight bucket harness before assembling: then the harness as installed inside the bucket, looking from the inside: then as it exits the bucket.. this is the metal end that fits snugly in the bucket opening, where it accepts the next plug to go to the terminal block:

update 05-09-16
Well its been awhile since my last post of any real progress. But I been pecking away at it...well I am happy to report that the body is now about 95% assembled.
Rear fenders, running boards, assembled headlight buckets, spare tire, etc all on the truck. I even played around with a few stencils to see what I like. I used some FLAT white assuming it would be ok.. I don't care for it.. I will try an antique white or some other variation of the white for the stencils and stars.
snapped a few updated shots to post.. not the best lighting but you get the picture.
awaiting my repop tailgate to arrive, and also my vintage cloth wiring so I can start wiring, albeit only the basics for now to get it road worthy.
Oh and I got to get the new front bumper on next...maybe tomorrow after work if the rain holds off

Re: New 1/2 ton Dodge WC-12 project
well thanks to you both.
well, its coming along. I hope to have it on the road sooner than I was thinking at first.. in fact, maybe as soon as the end of this month! I mean, its about as mechanically sound as its going to get at this point.. might as well jump in and get her driving on the road.
still gotta fix that very weak bottom seat spring on the drivers side. I feel like I am in a lower rider the way it sits so low due to wear.
I think after looking at the spring set I bought, and all the weak and missing pieces, I might very well make up a plywood base and get an upholstery shop to make me a new seat bottom using modern foam. then cover with my brown leatherette seat cover. I did this on my last truck and I was not disappointed.

I made a set of stencils for the hood serial number using the STENCIL font available on Microsoft word. This font very closely resembles a font found on a parts truck hood at David's shop.
see attached: seeing as I didn't have the original hood numbers, I simply chose a serial number that began with a "2", and one that had meaning to me (in European date format, Oct 23, 2013)
I resized the number to about 2", again matching the parts truck hood I was using as reference. I then printed out on a 11" x 17" paper my new number, and using a piece of oil board that came with my star stencil kit, I used spray adhesive to secure the paper onto the oil board.
then using a sharp razor blade tedious cut out the numbers.
Not too bad. still on the fence about the flat white when I think an antique white might have been better.

Re: New 1/2 ton Dodge WC-12 project
how ironic.
On my vacation last week to New England, our trip took us from Mystic Seaport, CT along the coast thru R.I. to Cape Cod Massachusetts.
at one point along the way, I asked my G-friend if a coffee sounded good. About that time, my G-friend looks over and sees this coffee shop.
Daves Coffee
davescoffee.com
now the fact that my name is Dave and all,l we just needed to stop.
But wait! it gets better. Not only did they have fantastic coffee, having set up shop in a historic 1700's dated home, their lawn art was a 1941 dodge 1/2 ton ambulance!
Being as I am in the middle of a 1/2 ton resto, albeit not an ambulance, pictures were in order.. they even sell Daves Coffee T-shirts, with a photo of this same ambulance on the back!
or course I got one..
Ha...
BTW. Don't bother..... the ambulance is not for sale

the repop tailgate arrived last week and I got it cleaned, prepped and painted and got it on the truck yesterday. that and the tailgate chains and tailgate chain canvas covers. I really think that bottom rear cross wood piece needs to be painted OD.. it sticks out like a sore thumb!
onto the wiring harness.

I always jump to the PowerWagon section and didn't see this thread until now. I'm the the middle of a WC-3 resto so many of your pics look familiar. Truck looks great.

Hi Dave,
Great job you did on your WC-12. If that was you on the other forum, thanks again for the advice.
