Different spec, different Part Number, and in between the size of G-506 and G-508.
My NOS G-506 may be gone, will check next time I visit my barn. I think all I have for NOS are 1968 dated Type 1 for G-508. They are made by Bendix of France to U.S. Spec.

I took the original off my halftrack and it looked very similiar to the one that was on my early g506. Had the hydraulic piston on one end and vacuumed valve on the other. Thought maybe a early g506 may fit on a 1/2 track.

Hydrovacs are similar, but can be slightly different in size and are specific to certain vehicles. They do not necessarily plumb up to applications they were not intended for.

You are likely correct. There is a table of hydrovac models, applications and repair kits on my photo page https://chevyg506.shutterfly.com/ Bendix model 371730 is listed for the Chevy 4x4 and the halftrack. I would suggest that you consult the appropriate parts list for verification.

And these various Hydrovacs specific to certain vehicles may have rebuild components that will only be found surplus. If one is lucky, they may find a contact overseas that has 60's 70's dated Bendix applicable kits that are surplus to more recent users of the WWII MV.

I posted a link three messages up with part numbers for hydrovacs and rebuild kits. Single versus dual see this page: https://www.tm9-801.com/hydrovacid/index.htm

I had a 3rd. series Hydro-vac in my 1st. Chevy. Boy did it work well, so well in fact that the truck would stop on a dime and give 6 cent change :o :) .
