Hello DAHALE,

From the data that I have, it looks like the 0483 was most likely 9483 with the complete number being W-229483 .

Hi pvt. parts,
even though the data the GPW whisperer contributed to the Doyle book is too clever to be understood (I especially like the four pages of erroneous WC12 data)
And which four pages would that be ?

I still need to know the page numbers that you are referring to.

Ah, I see now. I am not quite sure what there is to not understand on those two pages. The headings of each column speak for themselves. If a space is blank than there was no data to enter. Feel free to ask any questions and I will try to answer.

As far as "erroneous WC12 data " goes you will need to take the issue up with the Chrysler Archives from about 20 years ago when the data was copied. Your problem with the data in David Doyle's book is most likely that you are trying to use the number data found in various manuals ( much from before the fact or not corrected during the WC-12 production ) rather than after the fact ( post 1/2 Ton production and even post war ) factory generated corrected data.

The data on those two pages were reviewed several times but typos may still exist.

If I can add a little more information about the WC-13 that seems to have added some gasoline to this conversation, the data plate on the bed of the truck indicates that it was assembled in Aug 41, 14 Aug if my memory serves me correctly. I'll have to get picture of it and post it to confirm this information.

Hi pvt parts,
when I look at your data and am befuddled by it...
I am not sure how or when you have ever looked at any of my dodge data as it is only on my computer. What you see in Mr. Doyle's Dodge books is Chrysler Archives data from 20 years ago transcribed into the form that he requested for inclusion in his books.

Is the actual Chrysler data incorrect - I don't know. I do know there are build cards that show up for one model serial number that is coded as another model. Are they Factory assembly line mistakes or last minutes changes to fill rush orders ? Perhaps your databases could tell which is which.

Hi pvt. parts.
I don't have a classy price menu...lol
Neither do I for Dodges and that what this thread is all about.

If you know of a classy ( Thanks! ) price menu that I have ever posted please provide the link so I can review it also.

Hello

I need some help with some identification marking for WC-63 please see picture attached. At the rear of the truck I can make out 'USA 1' on driver side and '-9' on passenger side, I am also unsure on this making on the side of the truck.

Hi there!

As you are interested in Dodge WC data, I came across of one in Austria, this vehicle has been given away by the Austrian Army to the Fire Fighting Team in Lohnsburg a Long time ago and now, afew years ago came into private Hands but is still operated by the same guy as has been at the fire figting Team.

I do not have many data of it, but the Chassis number is"815 30 310".

The carburetor has been originally a carter but was changed to another model as you can see in the picture.

The owner says it is a WC56 but I understand that the WC56 is a Command car but this vehicle had a gun mounted on his loading platform - so could it be a M-6 ? or a WC52? What do you think?

I do not remember anymore, if I have given you the data of my own WC 52 with Chassis number 816 439 36? - If not, let me know, I will send you the data.

Click on the Pictures to enlarge.

If the upload of the pictures did not work, I will try later again (the Pictures are "PDF"-files).

Best regards, Henry.

Hm,
I am restoring a WC 53 Carry-All and am struggling to find the correct (or close too) hood number. The chassis number is 815 72192, Build date 31 August 1942, body number 3108.

I do know this vehicle never served overseas (outside USA) but she now lives with me in New Zealand 8)

Hopefully you can point me in the right direction.

Tom,

I would stay in the topic with my question: a "WC-51" (by original data plate, Dod aug 11 1944, s/n 81722407, will be compatible with a body tag "4290-138870"?

by the way, frame number is 921681.

thank you!
