Re: G506 Mirror arm mount
I mounted mine today. I got the longer hinge pins from "Chevy's of the 40's" I will post pictures tomorrow at the request of Jon. Can someone advise the size of the small screw that goes through the hinge into the mirror bracket? A very nice detail item.
A perfect fit.

Re: G506 Mirror arm mount
John,
The screw is a flat head 10-24 x 3/8''. Not sure if flat head or Phillips is correct. i apologize for not including them.
Great to hear they fit.

Phillips looks better, I am going to see if I have any concave external star washers.

Re: G506 Mirror arm mount
Here are the pictures as promised. I have to do some touch up painting from where the wrench scratched the acorn nuts. You will notice the bracket attached to the cowl, that is an open cab mirror bracket where the mirror was previously attached. I will take it off and use 2, 1/4- 20 pan head screws to cover the holes.

Thank you Kelly. A precision fit if I must say, and it looks nice on my 1941 CCKW.

Your brackets made mine, too. You're a good guy for the hobby.

Re: G506 Mirror arm mount
Hi Kelly,
Do you still have mirror arm mount for sale? If yes, I'm interested to have one if it's possible. Meanwhile, here is a picture Then & Now of my Chevy G7107.
Best regards

Re: G506 Mirror arm mount
Happy Thanksgiving Guy,
Your truck looks better then new,Great work. Do you have an original body for it that you are also going thru?
I haven't made any mirror brackets in almost 4 years, They are/were difficult to make and took a lot of time to perfect, Maybe some time in the future I will make more, If so I'll let you know.
Best,

Re: G506 Mirror arm mount
Hi Kelly,
Thanks for answer. No it's a 46 civilian cab in very good shape. I made the necessary modifications to make it identical to the original, sandblasted and applied a coat of epoxy primer and painted with OD paint. The old cabin was so rusty and the sheets made thin that even small electrical low-voltage welds caused holes. So, I have to work a lot before resigning myself and there comes a time when, even with the best intentions and skills, you can't bring back to life a cab sentenced to death.
Best regards and enjoy the Thanksgiving...

Re: G506 Mirror arm mount
Great pictures and video, My question was directed towards the cargo box, not the cab. What are your plans for the body?

Re: G506 Mirror arm mount
Hi Kelly,
For the cargo bed, it's the last job that I will do because it needs much of work. The wood bed was totally rotten and the stake pockets are all rusted through at the base. Meanwhile, I will drive next summer my truck without the cargo bed just to make me happy after all that work done.
Here is another video of my truck the last time it runs before its reconstruction. https://youtu.be/bY5RlFzAD5s
