Thank you Very Very Much...once you gave me that NSN I found that they are the New style tow bar that is longer. it was designed to Tow the Stryker with the Slat Armor installed. Here is a PS Magazine Blurb I found on line:
Dear Half-Mast,
I need some help with a tow bar for our Strykers. we are stationed in Iraq, so all our vehicles have slat armor. Our problem is that the regular tow bar,NSN National Stock Number 2540-00-9367801, is too short. When we try to use it, the tow bar damages the slat armor. Any ideas?

Dear Sergeant B.J.H.,
You bet! There's a new, two-piece tow bar available for Strykers with slat armor. The tow bar, NSN 2540-01-517-9227, measures 9-ft 5-in long, so it won't interfere with the slat armor.
To attach the tow bar to your Stryker, you'll also need the items in this table. You should already have the pintle and lock pin. The pintle is part of your COEI COEI Components Of End Item
