T-16 Universal Carrier carburetor
I have a 1942 T-16 Universal Carrier. I need a carburetor rebuild kit.
It is a Holley 885DD Carburetor on a flat head Ford/Merc V8
Any ideas?

Re: T-16 Universal Carrier carburetor
I got some parts out of UK, when I get home tonight I will look up the info, he had most of the rebuild stuff but he said some parts were not in the best of shape, but the gasket kit I got which is what I needed was is excellent shape for being original, he has the auto choke unit also.
Or you might try Carburetor Specialist in Georgia 888-871-2272. I got a brand new carb. from them as a backup. I got my parts & carb. in February this year. As you may already know it is hard to find parts for T16's. I'm still looking for some parts, mine is ready to run, just need to get fuel tanks (most likely will have to make) not finding any plans for them so will have to do some scouting and measuring.

Re: T-16 Universal Carrier carburetor
I have a t-16 which is pretty complete but needs a total rebuild. The engine with it looks like it spent a few years in a ditch, so may or may not be rebuildable. In any event, it does not have the carb.
Do you mind revealing the costs of the carb kits and the carb itself?
Appreciate any info.

Re: T-16 Universal Carrier carburetor
The carburetor ran 495.00 and it was a brand new one not rebuilt, but he gave me 250.00 for another that I had he wanted. The parts from the UK run 250.00 for complete carb. gasket kit, electric choke control, NOS belts. About half of the cost was shipping and exchange fees. My T16 is a Swedish return that I have taken all the junk off they put on and am returning it back to 1944 condition, that is why I need fuel tanks, they put the one large one in the rear.

Thanks for the information.
Rod Shaver had fuel tanks some time ago. Might be worth contacting him.

I got some of Rods other parts but no fuel tanks left, at least he did not say he had any from the list of parts I sent him I needed.

I probably didn’t post this correctly, but has anyone heard of someone owning one of the HyVee Ox 6x6 vehicles.

Re: T-16 Universal Carrier carburetor
Pretty sure I got the last fuel tanks Rod had. I would be interested in carb kits though. I am also looking for the oil bypass unit that mounts on the left side of the bell housing.

Re: T-16 Universal Carrier carburetor
I will see if I can find the contact info tonight, when I posted that I was looking for some parts he contacted me and was a big help with the kits and chock control. My engine had all the oil bypass items still on it so I did not have to get any of them. I thought it was interesting that they did not put any oil filter systems on the T16. I guess I will be building fuel tanks myself from pictures that I have collected.
