I can not help with the manual , but can tell you how to rebuild it. I rebuild my carb. three times, but never found a repair kit. If you have any m2 parts left over, I will buy them, or will trade on them. I am going to start back on my m2 when the weather warms up. I am have fun,fun
I have got four running halftracks, plus 5 ton ww2 semi-truck,1943 willys jeep and other ww2 vehicles, plus a lot of parts to trade on. Wendell in Tn.

Re: m2 cletrac
There was a tillitson manual on eBay a few months back. Did not sell if I remember correctly. The original military manual has decent information on the carb. I was in the same boat as VJ. No kits are available. I rebuilt my carb using the best parts from two carbs with no success. Sent both to an antique carb specialist who guaranteed they could fit it. No better results when it came back. I finally lucked up on a NOS carb and it is amazing how it now runs.
If my research is correct the YX3A was only used on the M2. That same engine was used in ag, marine, stationary and semi-truck applications but all used different carbs. That may be an option for you.
If you have specific questions I may be able to help.
Are you trying to get the one at Wright-Patterson operational?

Re: m2 cletrac
no we have an operational one at the wright museum in Wolfeboro NH.We had an idler bearing go bad, and 2 valve springs broke-- we tore it down to fix these things and the carb was gummed up so one of our guys took it apart to clean it. A ball bearing and small brass needle valve fell out and he did not see where they came from. we figured the ball came from bottom of accel. pump. tried the needle valve in a hole both ways...no luck
track will idle High only-- if you try to give it gas it coughs spits and dies.. if you try to lower idle same thing. thinking we rebuilt it wrong or the governor is messed up... any advice is helpful
thanks

Randy,
Do you have the manuals? If not I will send you the details from them. Should help you locate where they go.

The carb. has 2 needles, a short one for the float, then another longer one for the small hole at the side of the barrel. I lost the long one myself and I put a small ball bearing in the small hole to hold gas in the upper part of carb. I Lost it in the grass like a dum-A--

Re: m2 cletrac
Glad to see there are a number of Cletrac guys out there working on them. I have a friend who has track grouser sections which are NOS but sat outside for many years. He is selling them and I think he has a track or two more still available for sale. If you PM me, I will give you his contact information.
