WTD: Repair shop for a plate-type oil cooler? recommendation?

Post by DDTrustee » Mon Dec 25, 2017 10:22 pm

Anyone know where to get plate-type oil coolers repaired. Have several transmission oil coolers and transfer case oil coolers that got water in them and froze – leaving a separation and bump on one of the lower plates. They need repair and sealing, possibly a plate replacement
Who to use? Anyone have this problem and have a repair shop that knows their way around these items?
Will post photos of what I need repaired tomorrow.
PM please.

Rex Radiator in Chicago. They recored scoutcar and halftrack radiators for me as well as steamed out the oil coolers for the Sexton (same as for Sherman). They had all kinds of industrial and heavy equipment radiators in their shop. They did nice work for me.

Look for an old school radiator shop. They should be able to help. I have a great one in Eugene, Oregon.

the good one here closed when the owner got emphysema........the other one ruined an R975 engine oil cooler by overheating and then claiming that's the way it arrived for repair......they put a real hack on the work. Small pencil hole became multiple leaks.
