Engine stand advice

Post by cadec20 » Sun Apr 30, 2017 7:59 am

I am getting close to rebuilding my half track engine. However, I am going to need a much larger engine stand than the one I use for jeep engines. I am looking for advice on what type of stand and where you bought it?
Thanks
Cody

OTC. 1735B is about the most inexpensive that I have seen. Under $1100.00
The face plates adjust in and out between 21" to 37".

These guys have it for under $1100.00 and no tax plus free shipping.

$1,041.84 · NTXtools.comFree shipping, no tax Their home site says anything over $250.00 ships free and no tax.

You can also build some legs that bolt onto the block and use a hoist to turn it over.

I know it's not the absolute best option, but I was able to utilize the harbor freight 2000 lb stand.
I did not have any issues other than when rotating the engine I utilized the assistance of my cherry picker as the engine is top heavy.
It worked just fine for me.
