Ok, so I am going to attempt uploading some photos of our M5 HST restoration, PM # 2429 ORD Serial # 1884 we still have no idea when it was made, I have been in contact with the IHC archive folks and they have no record of their military contract serial numbers. They were able to tell me that they were made at the Bettendorf Works in Iowa between 1943 and 1945.

Re: M5 High Speed Tractor restoration
There she is getting ready to come home, The previous post has a link to a few more images that show what has been done. We now have 1 of the powder boxes off as well as the front nose section ( what a treat that was). We also have the chore of cutting C channel off of each track link, 15 or so down and alot more to go! Will post photos as we go, if anyone knows of any parts canvas etc.. please let me know.
Thanks,
Mark

That looks like a nice project, you better buy cutting and grinding wheels a case at a time . Good luck with it.

Re: M5 High Speed Tractor restoration
Mark,
I would estimate 2429 was built late 1943 or early 1944.
