Very snarky, Gary. I guess you showed the rest of us who is stupid and who isn't.

Gary's efforts to preserve his questionable reputation aside, all of this investigation was a worthwhile exercise in determining the status of the last track manufacturing equipment in the world.

We can all relax now, knowing Gary's on top of things.

Sorry you feel offended mike it's not my intention at all
I didn't see one solid piece of info but a lot of speculation on this subject
Tal was going to be in WI and Chgo and asked to meet with me here in the chgo area
No red eye flight needed but he had to cancell his trip for personal reasons so he called me and we spoke on the phone

The posting is the exact facts of what he told me
I am not going to put up 100k and so far I have not received any calls willing to put up a chunk of their savings to save the moulds and go into the track mfg business

I am a member of the G also and took the time to find out the facts as posted

Kevin has a great location and sources to build tracks but it takes money mike, and a lot of it for this project

It's amazing to me how I could find out all the correct details and offend you

It's for sale now and there is a interested buyer in Europe
The chance to buy everything is now !
There are only 2 choices left

thanks gary for finding out firm numbers!! the more info the better..

i think I may be in for 10K, heck i say, send them to Europe,, let them make them, then ship 200+ pre-sold sets in a container to the USA..

the manufacturing will be big $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$, packaging and shipping, set up, bulk material cost, building fee, trial, then production..Id think you'd have $200-250K, before you make your first track....
and I think thats light. i have a building,, but HOW big are these molds??

i need some parts,, boogie bearings and such....i may have them though... rebuilding my lower tracks!!

Too much stuff... all dodges for sale.

Hi all

I sent an email to TGL rubber many years ago regarding there listing of new tracks on there website as I was curiou sof how the moulds were made and whether the length of the tracks could be extended by approximately 50%. The reason I here you all ask is that I wondered whether it was possible to make tracks suitable for the Cletrac M2, as I and many many other owners are after NOS tracks. The pitch and centre guide are identical as is the overall width of the track. OK so the tracks would not have replacable pads, but no Cletrac owner is ever going to do more than 200 miles in a life time!!

Here is a picture of a Cletrac in France that appears to be running extended halftrack tracks

Anyway just a thought that another user may well Cletrac owners.

I also had a meeting set up with Tal and his American rep in Washington. Similar to Gary, it was cancelled. At least we know the real story on the molds now. And hopefully Tal will call one of us to get a better price than the scrap price when the Israelis decide to get out of the HT track biz.

Somebody suggested investing in a production run when Tal decides to get out of the business. Gary could do that, or perhaps a cooperative could do that.

As far as I have been able to determine, these are the last molds in the world, but I could be wrong. Does anybody know of any others?

Anybody know anything about Roncaglio in Buenos Aires? It seems they make halftrack tracks for the S. American market. How much do they cost? They look like a good back-up to both NOS and Israeli.

Could it be?
