42WLA NOS Engine Cases

Post by 17thAirborne » Sun Jul 30, 2017 1:23 pm

Does anyone know if NOS engine cases with factory installed races are line honed at the factory, or does one have to do that prior to assembly?

Thanks
Oz

Oz,

I believe they are in line, that's why at the factory they stamp belly numbers ( matching) on the two halves to indicate they are match up and in line.

Craig,

Thanks just what I needed. Saves another step. The cases should be here by Monday and I can paint them. Will be working on the flywheels tomorrow. Will post on the engine rebuild thread again.

Just read that now. Thanks for posting Craig. Machined then stamped. Sounds good.
