Needed 1st version square oil bath air filter cup

Purchased a nice 1st generation rectangle oil bath air cleaner that needed a little help. It straightened out nicely but ist came with a generation 2-3 oil cup in NOS condition. Anyone have the early lettering type cup laying around they want to sell or trade for a NOS later version? At this point I will take ALMOST any shape one Matt

Hey Matt,

You find the spot welded instruction tag type rectangular air cleaner?
That is the correct for yours if you have that one the cup should read ( caution oil level) the real early rectangular air the cup should read ( oil level) this real early type was phased out at 24,500 serial number.

your killing me! I found and bought the early decal type. Oh well at least I got a NOS cup and three incorrect air cleaners. Anybody got a spot welded direction one? CRAP!

Hey Matt,

I have a extra spot weld face cleaner I can trade you for your early one if you would like? Mine is a fixer upper let me know.
The spot weld ones were used from around 24,500 to the end of the type III production as Palmers states in his book.

Well this one is a fixer upper too so I thing we got a trade. does the one you have mess wire filters to or not? This one comes with a three piece mesh type. it is wire mesh, body and metal grating between the mesh. It has some mud to make it really smooth. matt
