Looks like a great project, Years ago I had a simplex service cycle, I did not know the Army use them in ww2, I seen one at Fort Campbell setting by a glider. It looked just like the one I had. I,m working on a m2 high speed tractor now.
I have got four running halftracks, plus 5 ton ww2 semi-truck,1943 willys jeep and other ww2 vehicles, plus a lot of parts to trade on. Wendell in Tn.

Thanks for the encouragement. Are you talking about one of these? I had to look it up as I had not heard of it either.

That Simplex in that pictures is not military at all!! well maybe postwar, (they were used by the Airforce postwar, and a civvy model tested by the canadians during the war) but the wartime ones were much different, there are only 2 known in the world, and I have one of them.... one day I will restore it.

Re. the Welbike Carb, the part # is V576E (E for Excelsior, and that means it's not standard) the body on itself has part # C1 not that it will do you any good, as these numbers are not stamped in the parts.

Hope it helps somehow!

It looks like you only collect items of which one was made. Must be hard to find parts, but I know with time and persistence, anything can be found or made.

Hi OZ,
Nice looking bike you have, looks to be an original and not a made up one.

Wendell, I don't have any pictures in the PC, will try to make some next week, but it's a pile of parts at the moment!

Rory, Oz's Welbike is certainly original, there are so many differences with replica's it's easy to recognize them!
