A great tyre. May not look like the originals but if you ride a lot, it's a good choice.
I know this tyre is good on hard surfaces as I used to have them on my BSAs and Triumphs but even the square Avons probably work on grass.

Retreading seems to be the answer. I didn't think of retreads and didn't know this was done to motorcycle tires. This explains the stencils being cut off. Interesting they survived the retreading process! I have a set of hybrids!
