???Original Army Bicycle Military WWII Bike??

Postby MUTTSNBOLTS » Sun May 20, 2012 9:49 pm

So anyone buy the non original-
Original Army Bicycle Military WWII Bike item# 251060097387
This bicycle has the serial number "MG94029"

Just curious,,,,,About that frame/serial #...Didn't seem legit to me.
Maybe if a member picked it up they could tell us if it turned out to be authentic.

It didnt meet its reserve. Seller should have had a $1000 reserve and been more than happy with the price. Cant even make out the serial number.

Exactly, The serial number thing had me suspicious. Not to mention there wasn't anything original on the original WW2 Bicycle. At best handle bars, Chain Gard and Frame, but I doubt it.

I looked at this bike today. The serial number does indeed start with MG and I'm positive it's original. The frame shows welds at all of the junctions as a war time bike should. The handle bars and chain guard and crank appear to be GI also. The rest is all civilian.

No one bought the bike. It did not meet reserve and has been relisted. Ebay #251071536675. $1,000.00 start, $1,500.00 Buy it Now. Still too high for just a frame, fork, handlebars and chain guard.

Yes, it was marked MG 90###. There was a square below and maybe D 70 up above? I didn't take much notice of the other markings beyond the MG#####.

Well it appears that someone paid about twice it's value. It went for $1200.00. Now it will probably cost another $1200.00 + to get the correct missing parts to restore it, assuming the buyer can locate all the parts.
