More engine power in dukw

I would like to get a more powerful engine into my Dukw. Which 302 gmc is the best to use

From what I recall, the M135/M211 GMC 2-1/2T truck (recall Rambo driving one...)
Distinguishing features: Sloped hood. sides of rear bed notched up a few inches above the rear wheels, bumper might have lightening holes in it, usually hardtop. (automatic transmission)
This keeps it military, and I think is a bolt in replacement, but you still need the reverse fan and some components off the DUKW engine, possibly the flywheel.
Here's an example for 2K, but asking on the 2ton and up forum, or over on SS may yield a truck for parting out for the axles offering the engine. ... truck.html

That would be a good motor to install but be careful not to overpower the rest of the driveline. It gets very expensive when other components start to break. Eddy
