your right 700 X 15

Post by AGRIJEEP CJ2-14 » Tue Jul 08, 2003 2:32 am

700 X 15 is the tire size and the wheel size is 4.50 X 15. That is what I am looking for.

The Goodyear drawings indicate that it was designated as a "SURE GRIP GRADER DESIGN TIRE" and only had Goodyear Sure Grip stamped on it. Please confirm.

Daron, I think I may have 3 of them on a old welder Jeep. Not sure what kind of shape they are in, are the early CJ5 15 inch wheels different? I have some of them laying around also.

As soon as I finished posting the previous message I remembered, I also have a 49 CJ3A that has a PTO that has factory 15 inch wheels ( I think ). All the CJ 2A and CJ3A jeeps that I have seen round here had 15 inch wheels, is that standard for PTO Jeeps?

15X700 tires and 15X4.50 wheels

Post by AGRIJEEP CJ2-14 » Fri Jul 11, 2003 2:14 am

IT seems that the 15 inch wheels where made for farming with the Jeep. So yes, most farm jeeps have ptos and thus might have 15 inch wheels. The 15 inch wheel was used later in production for the 2A. That is why I would like to use them on my 49 2A. Also, because Goodyear makes a farm tire for the 15 inch wheel and not the 16 inch wheel. It would be great if they would make some more 16 inch farm tires. I have tried to look for any Doodyear 16 tires but they seem to be al gone. Have you found any Keith?

Robbie,

What is the welder in? Is it in a 2A? I am interested in the 15s you have. Please email me if you want to sell.

Thank you,

Two questions real quick. where in Colorado are you I grew up there mainly in Vail and the last few years in Denver. While there I had a 42 Willys science project and then got my current 47 CJ2A mainly original?

The other question is do you know where I can get the Goodyear Sure Grip workhorse 7.00X15 tires I need to replace 2 and am having a tough time finding them. I don't necessarily need new but 2 of mine are really getting bald.

Thanks
Allen

wheels and tires

Post by AGRIJEEP CJ2-14 » Thu Jul 24, 2003 7:54 pm

I live in Lakewood, Colorado which is the city south west of Denver.

Goodyear stopped making the 16x6:00 tires. I have looked and looked and looked and have not found any. This is why I am looking for the 15X6:00 becasue Goodyear makes those tires today. If anyone knows where any Goodyear 16X6:00 please let me know so that I can put them on my AGRIJEEP CJ2-14.

Sorry for the late post. Have been on the road.

I am having the same trouble finding tires for my 47 CJ2A. It has the goodyear sure grip work horse on it and I need to replace two. I may have to start hunting used tire shops. All the 7.00 15 tires I'm finding are running 30" tall and mine are a hair over 28".

The reason I asked about where you live is because I lived in lakewood and wheatridge prior to being here in Arkansas.

Daron,

I bought a set of repro Goodyears 6.00 x 16 from Beachwood. That was about 10 years ago though. Don't know if they still have them. They look really good except they have 'Made in Columbia' on them.

One of my fire department customers has a clean CJ-3A Jeep used for brush fires, it has a 7.00X15 Goodyear that is marked "Farm Tire" as a spare.
