REPRODUCTION WILLYS JEEP CJV-35/U- CJ3A OAK STARTER BLOCK

ONE REPRODUCTION WILLYS JEEP MODEL CJV-35/U AND CJ3A WOOD (OAK) STARTER BLOCK. $6.50 including shipping.

THIS BLOCK SCREWS TO THE INNER FIREWALL AND THE STARTER FOOT PEDAL RUNS THROUGH IT. THE BLOCK WAS TO HELP KEEP THE STARTER ENGAGEMENT FOOT PEDAL INLINE WITH THE STARTER SWITCH WHEN PUSHED IN. THE BLOCK HAD BEEN MADE WITH MANY DIFFERENT MATERIALS (OAK WAS ONE) BY WILLYS WITH RATHER POOR RESULTS OVERALL. THEY TENDED TO BREAK DUE TO SIDE PRESSURE OF FOOT AS THE POSITION OF STARTER PEDAL WAS WAY OVER ON THE PASSENGER SIDE OF THE JEEP, THUS THIS BLOCK IS ALMOST ALWAYS MISSING.

MY CJ3A WAS MISSING THIS BLOCK AND I FINALLY DECIDED TO MAKE ONE OUT OF SOME OAK HARD WOOD FLOORING PIECES I HAD LAYING AROUND. I MADE EXTRAS WHILE AT IT.

THE BLOCKS ARE NOT PERFECT BUT ARE BASED ON THE ORIGINAL DRAWING OF THE NOS PART. SOME MEASUREMENTS MAY BE OFF A SMALL FRACTION BUT THE BLOCK WILL LOOK AND FUNCTION AS INTENDED ORIGINALLY.

THIS OAK IS HARD AND HARD TO CUT!!! IT SHOULD LAST A LONG TIME IN YOUR JEEP.

PM me

DO A EASY GOOGLE SEARCH FOR "CJ3A STARTER BLOCK" FOR INFORMATION ON THIS ELUSIVE PART.

Excellent Idea, I remember the not so good Willys Starter Pedal Blocks, they were also found on Early CJ-3B using starters with push rod.

Why didn't Willys go to the key switch/starter solenoid system long before they did?
Is it true real Jeeps have flat fenders?
Alone cannot you it resist!

They didn't spend a dime more than they had to after the war. No glove boxes, a smaller gas tank so a sump didn't have to be put in the floor, 1 tool box under the seat instead of boxes cut into wheel housings. An oak block in place of the extra switch parts business. They were just trying to survive.
