Nice looking jeep Luc. Just find the correct Naco tail light and the master cylinder cover and your good to go. By the way, you show the engine number as 12078. That is a 46 year number. I assume your body and frame number is 11824 or prior if as you say, it is a 45 model year.

Luc,

Yes, that is a nice looking early CJ 2A. You may also find that a serial number on the passenger outer side of the tailgate lip. It should match the body number on the driver's side body gusset. The windshield is correct for an early CJ 2A with the two square plate supports on the outer surface. The transmission cover may have a hump on the outer side for the top of the transmission cover bump. I think I got that right. All I know is my body transmission cover has a bump on the top of it. Lastly, you may find a toggle switch on the outer or right side of the steering column lower lip portion of the dash that operates the single dash light.

The 45 I have does not have the original engine, but a later L head. Mine still have the original paint/patina on her as well. When I purchased mine, I decided not to paint her, just do the mechanics on her. So she is not pretty and shiny, but when the grandkids come up to visit Papa, they want to play in the "Mater" (cars movie) jeep. Someone where I have a photo of my wife and one of the little ones driving the Mater jeep in the shop.

Congratulations on your jeep and enjoy,

Nice and complete BJ, and what makes it even better is what looks like the original mannuals that come with it. One question, how many CJ2s were manufactured ?

Very nice Luc:

You reported this to the CJ-2A database 2 years ago. Did it only recently arrive in Belgium, or have you just not had time to work on it yet?
Frankly, am shocked that the engine has been replaced sometime, the serial is 11571 which makes it a '45 jeep if am right.?
Yes, s/n 11571 is a 1945.

The engine is original. Engine numbers were normally greater than vehicle S/N, and yours falls right in line with others before and after your s/n.

s/n 11325 has engine 11594
s/n 11558 has engine 12067
s/n 11571 has engine 12078
s/n 11713 has engine 12249
s/n 11907 has engine 12255

The "B" suffix indicates the engine block was rejected for use in MB, and set aside for later use in CJ-2A.
Trying to complete it, but not found a correct tail light for the back.
It is also missing the "tit less" head lights, they have been replaced one day.
2 of the rarest parts. Good luck finding them!

Should be restored to new condition. That's what I would do; those vehicles with mostly rusted sheet metal deserve it; even though it is original, patina. Now, if it had mostly original paint, then that is another story.
