Re: I.D. Jeep ehgine
Appears to be an Industrial Engine set up. The block will fit all L-134 applications. Tear it down look for obvious cracks and holes, Valve seats are a good place to inspect. If it looks promising, strip it down and magnaflex.

Looks perhaps like a marine transmission.
'No comment' other than parts are always good & magnaflux detects cracks.
Magnaflex has to do with kids toys

Interesting... it has an oil pressure sending unit on the block instead of a fitting for a gauge. Has it been sitting outside with spark plugs missing for a long time? Pull the head and see what the cylinders look like.
Is it true real Jeeps have flat fenders?

The Thermostat housing is angled straight forward the same as industrial motors, instead of slight angle to CJ drivers side.

Re: I.D. Jeep ehgine
Update....I purchased this, got it out of the scrapyard,(had to take as much off {trans etc...} as I could due to having to carry it over piles of junk) and then took it to a military vehicle show @ Gilbert PA this past weekend. You would think with all the experts there I would have gotten a positive ID on this but not so...got everything from it being from an early 46 CJ2A to a generator/welder to a forklift, the trans was ID'ed from a jeepster/jeep station wagon. The flat boss on front of engine didn't have any letters and only a five digit number 95463 so that threw people off. I did sell a couple small parts, just enough to cover cost of purchase... so.. I'm going to go with this being junk and if I can get the cyl head off that (if usable) would be the only thing worth saving if for anything but wall art. Thank you to everyone that replied to my post!

Re: I.D. Jeep ehgine
Final update....head was NG, saved tin side valve spring cover and trans, the rest went to scrapyard. Not sure if any of the trans parts can be used for anything else but it's small so I'll hang on to it for a bit. For all of the work/lifting/dragging/hauling/etc...I think I'm definitely going to pass on any more 'jeep finds' in my future travels!

Re: I.D. Jeep ehgine
Dont give up, find out what you have before taking it to the shows, Dipstick and tube were worth more than the engine. Now is the vent tube and valve cover ford marked by any chance?

Yes, engine went to scrapyard. I saved the trans and tin side cover.
