In the immediate post war years a new phenomenon appeared on the city (and country) streets. It was the sight of neat 600X16 Goodyear All Service tire tracks left by new CJ-2A Jeeps in freshly fallen snow. Every time I saw them I wished they would lead me to my driveway. And sometimes they did. :wink: Tire chains did not seem the rule back then, people learned to drove on show. Within a year or two the "knobby mud and snow tires appeared on Jeeps. Allstate Tires from Sears made both NDT's and knobby 600 X 16's..
