I found two carter carbs and would like to know what year jeep they go on.
1) First one has the following markings : I-458 on cast base , 0-614 circle with a C , circle with a R , 12 patent numbers with the last number 2252958 , large circle C on top of carb and made in st Louis USA bu Carter carburetor corporation , Model W-O , 146 - 94 also has patent number 2179380 on arm.
2) Markings Carter YF circle with C , circle with R , made in USA , 0-1091, C 4 1-788 on cast base , 12 patent numbers last being 2658733 , 6-723 big circle C, small circle R , c70 2467 S

If the tag is missing it is impossible to determine an exact date. For a time frame pics are needed

As a general rule, the fewer patent numbers there are would suggest the Carter WO is older. 8 patent numbers are more likely original to the MBs and GPWs era. 12 patent numbers are younger and found on 2As and 3As. Most of the components are interchangeable, so you can find an 8 patent bowl on a I-458 throttle base.
The Carter YF were used on CJ3Bs, CJ5s, Trucks, Jeepsters etc…that were equipped with the F-134 engine.
I don’t know how to offer a specific ‘Date’ to either Carter.
