Does anyone know the part number of the bushing that the starter shaft rests in inside of the bellhousing? TIA  gary

Is there an easy way to get it out? gary

Carefully run a 14mm or 9/16" tap into the old bushing. Don't run it in enough to push the blind plug out the back of the bushing. Connect a matching bolt to a slide hammer and screw it into the bushing and slide hammer the bushing out. Find a long bolt that fits the inside diameter of the bushing. Put a nut and fender washer on it to limit how much it extend into the bushing and how much it will let the bushing be driven into the bellhousing. Again, careful not to push the blind plug out the back.

Thanks for tip on removal. I'll give it a shot this afternoon. Had to order part. I just think chankging it will be a good idea since it probably is something that is easily ignored. Clean top of skid plate. That'll be nice and "slick." gary

I'm thinking about swapping out my bushing also, trying to remedy my engagement problems. Just confirm for me that I can drive the old bushing out the back of the bell housing. I tapped on it a few times but it didn't budge. Just want to make sure either direction is ok and then I'll wack it somemore. DUKE

New bushing fit nicely on starter, old bushing seemed a bit sloppy when removed, new one went in easily. I'm happy. :D  gary
