It depends how deep both are? Narrow and tall slices through the snow to get down to where traction are. If it's real deep go wide and float on top.
Try all the discount places near you and compare it to
the " The Tire Rack" They are about the cheapest. They also review the tires w/ comments from those that buy them. Most times freight and sales tax are about equal. I doubt they sell bias ply tires, it's mostly modern stuff.

I have a set of Dick Cepek Norseman radials on my M38A1. 235/75R15 is just 1/2" shorter than the stock 700x16 NDT. They work really well compared to bias ply, but I believe those went out of production some time ago. A replacement I would lean to would be Cooper Discoverer L/T. 215/75R15 would fit your rims and should fill the wheel wells without getting out of hand. Narrow is good for snow, wide is good for sand/mud. Radials do outstanding on rocks. Always thought a tractor tire tread looked way cool on a flat fender, no idea how they perform.

Will a 215/75r15 tire fit on a standard 4.5" CJ rim?

Thanks Allen

Thanks guys :P , I found someone that could get me some 700x15 in tubeless and they are bias,8 ply and are they tall !! They are made by Ogdan(?) and look like they will work good for both. I have 235/75/15 firestones now, just wanted a little more. Here in southern IN we only get about 6" to 8" at worst. I'll let everybody know how they work. 8)

Al, Cooper lists a minimum width of 5.5". The great thing about tires is that every manufacturer has its own methods of measuring rubber, so a 2157515 Cooper is almost certainly differant than a Goodyear of the same number. Reccomended wheel sizes can differ between product lines, so you have to find a tire you're interested in and find the data to see if it will work.
