GJ2A will not start.... HELP ! Parade today
Points would burn out quickly, within a mile of driving, and jeep would not run..... Re-worked distributor, zero Ohms from Negative coil wire off coil to contact bolt, when points open on points side, same on points, condenser lead when points are closed. New Coil, good wires, clean plugs, good fuel. Good blue spark from coil wire to ground, good spark to plugs. Good ignition switch. Squirted oil in cylinders to prevent wash down, have compression, fire, fuel. Cranks good, battery good, charged, tries to catch, but will not fire. We marked distributor, rotor in-line on block prior to removing and set back in on marks. Could it be timing ? Help from stumped in Texas,,,,,,,

To make an engine run you need compression, fuel in the proper mix, spark at the plugs and at the right time.
Sounds like you have it all but wondering about the " at the right time Factor ".
You say it tries to start but won't catch.
Maybe the timing is retarded.
Timing marks centered. Loosen the distributor. Turn it clock wise, looking down on the top of the distributor. Then turn it back counterclockwise until the points just open.
You say you rebuilt the distributor. Did that include a new condenser. Bad condensers will give you fits. Make the engine run bad and hard to start. Can also burn up a set of points pretty fast.

One more thought. ?
You say you reworked the distributor. ??
Does this mean you disassembled it ???
And took the cam plate off of the distributor shaft ????
The cam plate can be put back on 1/2 out. When the rotor should be pointing at #1 on the distributor cap, it will be pointing at #4.
Definitely won't run in this situation.
But would not try to start either. At best, it might backfire.
If this is the case and since you are in a hurry. Move the plug wires in the cap to match the new rotor position.
This will get you to the parade and you can straighten it out later.
