THANKS

Post by Joe Gopan » Fri Jul 24, 2015 7:22 pm

Every once in a while I like to remind and say "thank you" to those who have gone out of the way to do me a favor.
You all know who you are, a big group hug to you and thanks.
It's been 10 years, and the MBT has had a new set of NDT sneakers since.

What type of tires did you end up putting on her? They look cool. How much did it ran you?

The tires in the photo are the type of 6.00 X 16 the Swiss Army installed on their vehicles The trailer had the special wheels that were common to Swiss Army MBT trailers. The tires were temporarily installed on M-38A1 wheels. I installed new STA NDT's on WWII Combat Wheels shortly after the photo was taken 10 years ago. I plan to replace the STA's with new Goodyear NDT's.

I remember it as a ceremonial trailer with a grand send off that made West to East history. A little paint sealed its lips forever.

Another MVPA Convention is here and is a forever reminder of those great guys at the convention in California who helped get my MBT to the East Coast.

Ben,
You mentioned those Swiss wheels that came with your trailer. They came with mine too. I always thought they looked very similar to Wehrmacht trailer wheels that I've seen in pictures. What do you think?

I'm thinking carburetor, eMail me.

The wheels? You may be right, to me they look like they were designed that way to make it easier to clean any accumulated horsemanure off.
The Swiss tires appear superior to our NDT's, there are some G503 users that were contacting Swiss trailer buyers to purchace the tires for use on their JEEP's.

We are now four months in to 2019, Winter is finally making its long awaited exit, just the mud is left. Another week of warm temperature and sunshine will make that first MV ride of the year a reality with a flip of the coin as to which vehicle. With each passing year, we are now, more than ever , custodians of the past when so many young GI's operated them. We all have our reasons for enjoying our MV's.
The MVPA magazine title says it all, it's called "History in Motion".
