Ok, That idea sounds great as I have been unable to locate a replacement through the part houses. Only problem who carries the replacement threaded shaft?

Would a good machinist be able to replicate the threaded portion? What thread per inch pattern should be used?
if this idea of a machinist working it out for me I am definitely counting on my backup part from a member here on the boards.
