M416 ID

Postby sam C. » Wed May 30, 2012 6:43 pm

Awhile back, some of you helped me with questions I had about an M416. Now I've come upon another one but it is slightly different. This one has loops on the sides/corners, down low. Along with the standard tie-downs on the sides.
It was owned by the North Carolina Department of Forestry (something like that anyways) and has USMC 343615 on the sides, in front of the fenders. Fenders are slightly dented. Right spring will need reworked. Probably needs a new wiring harness. Or at least the plug at the front. Rear panel has been cut in half (Left half has a wooden door installed). It has a trailer hitch on it. Not a lunnette ring.
What variation of M416 is this? What might it be worth?
Thanks

Sam

If there are no jerry can holders in front of the fenders then it sounds like a normal USMC M416. The tailgate is probably just a post production modification. Here is a pic of my USMC M416 is yours like mine? Image

JB, yes. It looks like yours. But not nearly as nice.
