K-38 Trailer
Just picked up this K-38, pretty complete minus the lunette. I see Gordon M. made his own, if anybody has one, the plans for one or if you read this Gordon I'd like to be educated on how to make one. Luckily they used the original holes for the lunette to attach the civilian hitch. Also the original OD paint is peeking through the peeling red, might be able to recover any markings on it! I also just got back my WC-43 telephone truck I gave away 10 years ago, they'll look good together.

Re: K-38 Trailer
Here it is sandblasted, prior to sandblasting I uncovered some of the original markings with a pressure washer. On the front panel was the invasion bar code painted on as well as a bridge plate painted on the driver's side, front. The bridge plate was a 6" circle, yellow with a black "0" with a line under it and "1/2" under the line. It had "USA" also on the front but no registration number under it. I also found partial unit markings on the rear. When I dig up the pictures of that I'll post them.

Re: K-38 Trailer
it's a nice little unit. I'd very much like to see marking photographs too.
You probably have the hitch image / sizes by now, but if you don't, PM me. Robin did my interior metal, Ken J found me some bits, and I made my own lantern guard which you can see images of on here somewhere if you just search for 'splicer'

Re: K-38 Trailer
Nice Trailer! I just finished mine and would love to see the markings you uncovered. I mostly just guessed since the info is just not out there. Good Job!

Re: K-38 Trailer
Here's the front markings, invasion bar code looked like a tan colored bar in the middle, white top and bottom. The writing above looked like " W? 98-J" . Looks like a BIG J in the middle unless that's the way the red paint ran over it. And finally "USA" but no number below it.

Re: K-38 Trailer
On the rear was "B47" in 2" block letters. So it belonged to "B" company. On the left I could only make out a 3" block "A", probably the last letter in "USA" like on the front. As you can see a pintle hook was also on it at one time. And it was last on the road in 1965!
