Re: Zeph's 1943 Willys MBT Trailer
That is what I was hoping. It makes sense. But, with the Government, who knows. Does it show the spec on how long the cable from the B.O. switch and the vehicle? Hope I am not asking too many questions.

Re: Zeph's 1943 Willys MBT Trailer
Thank you. From looking at this thread and opening the other threads it directs to, I see that from the base of the vehicle plug side to the eyelets is 77 3/4 inches. If this is not correct, someone please say something. I wanted to put it here in case someone was reading this. Also, I figure I can always make it shorter but, making it longer probably won't happen. Thanks again.jeepfinger wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2018 6:16 amHi 43,1943Willysgpw wrote: ↑Fri Jan 12, 2018 5:24 amDoes it show the spec on how long the cable from the B.O. switch and the vehicle?

That's good information on the length of the cable. I had an original one, so I didn't even think about the measurement at the time I installed it. I'll have to measure it.

The 77 3/4" from the base of the plug to the eyelets is correct, the rest is inside the plug.

Last detail for the MBT project. The original data rebuild tag from March 1945. A guy at work restored it for me. It appears to be made from lead as it is very heavy and very soft. Had some type of paint on it that was really hard to get off. Took him a bit to complete it, but looks really great:

Re: Zeph's 1943 Willys MBT Trailer
I've just read this thread in its entirety... amazing work. Between this and some other offline discussions, I've done some work on my own MBT. It will be NOTHING like yours....but it's progress!
Thanks for posting...where can we follow your other work?

Thank you Luke! The MBT was a fun project.
I have a couple of links below my signature line to a couple of projects I worked over. I also just recently started a 1941 Carryall project: http://g503.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=293677

Installed the rebuild tag today on the MBT:

Not a bad idea. I'm sure you could have something made at a local engraving shop?

I need some confirmation on my own work. Mind an email and some pics?
