Need help with small trailer, please
Hello all:
I need help or information that would lead me to identify this little trailer. There is not much to go by but I will post the pictures and let them speak for themselves. The trailer has, what I believe to be, M38 wheels on. If I'm wrong, please let me know. The springs are quite peculiar and different. I have never seen ones like these before. The trailer has four ratchet points. One on the front, one on the rear, and two on the left hand side of the trailer as you look at it from the tongue. It does have a serial number edged on the front of the trailer. That number is...DR837721T. You can clearly see that from the pictures. I found another number on the side of the trailer. Those numbers appear to be...B / O / 6 and the other one is B / O25.
Like I said, not too much to go by but that's all I have. Other than the wheels and tires being military (unknown) I don't know much about it. Here are some pictures. Please let me know if there is any value on it or at least on the wheels themselves.
Thanks in advance,
Joel

Re: Need help with small trailer, please
My apologies if this was a copy. I could not remember if I had posted this before or not. Didn't check either, sorry guys. I do have one question. Are the wheels worth anything? All I can think of doing is parting out with it and keep the wheels.
Anyways, thanks for the kind replies and help.

One looks like an m38 of CJ wheel, it might be worth something.canorisa wrote:My apologies if this was a copy. I could not remember if I had posted this before or not. Re: Need help with small trailer, please
Maybe you could salvage some of the components and build a teardrop trailer from them?

Re: Need help with small trailer, please
@Marty....thanks for the idea. I thought of that but three things I don't have....time, money, space/location. I'm going to part out with it.
@lt.luke...I was told that they were M38 wheels. Am I safe to go with that information? It this is correct, then I'm going to sell the wheels and part out from this little trailer. If I can get $100 for these wheels then I should have recovered 1/2 of what I paid for it. Right now I just want it gone. If anyone wants it I'll give it but without the wheels unless I can get $100 for it.
Thanks Gents.

If the person who told you "they" are M38 wheels is willing to buy them, hurry up! The green wheel looks M38. The black one may be Jeep, but doesn't look specifically m38, at least to me.

Either way cj or m38's are worth 45-50 bucks in good condition. It would make a good smoker/grill with a big propane tank on it.

Yes good 16" are nice to find. Tires can be a bonus or a curse depending on shipping.

I never thought of that. THANKS for the idea. This trailer is FOR SALE then. I'm just asking $100 Firm for it. The tires on this one are shot but everything else is just rust. Nothing through, just surface rust. If you know of anyone, please send him my way. The trailer is located at the Mechanized Museum in Camp Pendleton, CA.
If no one gets it by say, April of next year I'll try to make a trade. I know the museum wants a BBQ and this set up will be perfect. Who knows, maybe they'll want it.
Thanks again,
Jr
