Trailer Markings

Postby jeep-a-holic » Fri Jun 29, 2012 9:13 pm

Hey all,
I have a 1945 Converto T-6, and under the paint I see these markings. I am about to uncover the markings on the rear of the frame as well. What do these mean, and where do they come form?

My guess would be a 6th Marine tac mark. Though I would reserve judging till you see if there is anything on the rear.

This is what I found on mine.

Farrell......The Converto T6 contract was with the US Navy so yours having USMC markings on it makes sense. That is not to say that ALL the T6s the Navy bought went to the Marines as there was at least TWO contracts for them from the USN.

I should have mentioned, my trailer is an MBT, not a T-6. I only used the photo to reference the markings as to what they may look like on the rear.
