M422A1 door and side curtain installation

Postby Bean » Wed Jul 04, 2012 2:48 pm

I am installing my doors and side curtains on my M422A1.I have no instructions and I'm having a hard time figuring out how the upper and lower door retainers go.Can anyone help with how these install? It seems the lower retainer is too long,But I really have no idea how this goes together so I am only guessing,And the manual is really no help.Pictures would be great.

This is off google and is way too big to post but it may help you.

Thanks Bill,That does help.I'm a little leery of the kit I have.I'm not sure if it is for the A1.I was told by a Mighty Mite parts supplier that the government did not make winterization kits for the A1.I am dry fitting it before I start drilling holes.Everything appears to fit so far.

I'm having a real hard time getting the canvas to fit. This is a NOS kit and I guess the canvas has shrunk over the years. The side curtains seem to fit fine,But the door skins are real tight.I put one together tonight and it took some doing to get the canvas on the frame.I'll let it sit for awhile to see if it stretches any.Are there any tricks to stretching canvas??

Hot water and soak it good. Then stretch it onto the frame. When it shrinks it will be a tight fit.
