Re: M151 engine for sale
Interesting engine, I would love to know where that distributor came from and what plugs they are. And the data plate is a bit strange too.

Re: M151 engine for sale
Not an expert but that appears to be an extremely early run engine. I see the early style engine mounts, the early style bell housing, and that is a Holley carb.

Re: M151 engine for sale
And it is blue, I have seen several blue engines and they were all pretty early engines, I have two of them.

Re: M151 engine for sale
I remember those ones Tricky Dicky rode in, they were some sort of prototype. They were different than a standard 151 in many ways besides just the color. From what I understand there were a group of four or five that traveled everywhere he went.

Re: M151 engine for sale
Not this one is it? I can't tell if it's midnight blue or the dark green that was said to be almost black. This appears to be an A1 which would have fit the time frame of his presidency. Anything earlier would have been while Vice.

Re: M151 engine for sale
Yup, that's the one, and there were three or four more of them. Somewhere on here is a picture of a group of them in one spot. Notice there are no brackets on the side for tools. No top bows, seat pads on the rear fenders, grab loop on the windshield. That is all add on stuff but there were some body things that made them stand out but I don't remember now what it was.
On edit, now that I see the one posted below I realize that is the one I was looking for.

Re: M151 engine for sale
THAT was it, there were several other pictures from that same series with some of the other 151's in it. Look at the body and tell me all the things you see. Like NO seams. Looks almost like an Encore.

Re: M151 engine for sale
Hmmm. Color matches closer to engine for sure. Mag wheels, early front bumper, early 2D0455 hood number, Vzike's door channels are missing, looks like single horn latches best I can tell, early windshield, body panels all look flat and no seams as mentioned, even hood seems to be missing ribs... maybe aluminum body?

Re: M151 engine for sale
I would hate to see the engine go to scrap but being in NJ it is just not feasible for me. If you do decide it has to be scrapped I would really be interested in the distributor. I want to see what it is since I have never seen nor heard of a civilian distributor for this engine.
