I will bring the modification components of the ambulance conversion to Aberdeen, MD. show next week if anyone is interested in picking them up. (minus the front folding passenger seat and any other brackets for stretchers these are the most visible components of the modification)
This will consist of a torched off rear fender center section (torched through the MUTT body, not the ambulance bolt on extensions so you even get some lights), center floor panel, corner lift reinforcement brackets and the rear tall top bow. Also have the spare tire carrier mount FOR TOW or 106mm MUTT as shown below. Won't consider selling the parts individually or mailing this until after the Aberdeen show, then I'd have to figure a way to do that (bows rather large)
Any interest let me know, asking $550, have an East Coast friend pick them up for you. I can get more photos of the pieces before the show, or work with you.

Re: Ambulance extensions, center board, Top Bow, Tire carrie
The other parts, Not shown is a large rear TOP bow (not bent up).
Recall I said the MUTT body was cut off not the ambulance parts. Now I need to figure what that spare tire carrier is, as I thought the other one went up front, can't recal a side (rear) mount as shown below.

Looks like the side mount was fabricated on, possibly to carry two spares or to move the spare to the rear to open up the front door opening.

Rick in looking at other 718's, I see no tire up by the door like I had mistakenly thought (like my TOW jeep)
So it was my foot in mouth for the comment.
As to fabrication, I'd have to look the pats over more closely as I get them to Aberdeen, the tire mount is where it should be, and the cut off piece came of an ex-service body from DRMO, so I doubt the Govt. fabricated it.

Re: Ambulance extensions, center board, Top Bow, Tire carrie
I was kind of wondering that myself because I remember the folding seat and nothing blocking it but could not remember where the spare was. I do remember riding in a TOW 151 and it was a royal pain to get in the passenger side.

In the TOW setup the spare is by the front of the pass door. The TOW spare carrier even as a bit of a metal mud flap on it.
On the 718, its exactly where its shown in the pics above. There are 2 versions of the rear spare carrier for the ambulance and this one here is the early one.
