Correct 'back-pocket' manuals/log books/forms soon for sale

I stumbled across this today and it was exactly what I was looking for! Yet another "M151 Nostalgia" type item!

It's the 100% correct book that goes in the drivers side seat-back pocket! This is the exact size binder/portfolio that will fit your seat pocket. It includes the following papers:

• Be Your Own Inspector booklets for M151A1 and M151A2 (a guy was talking about these earlier via email, had no clue they were standard issue!)

• Basic operators manual TM 9-2320-218-10, you pick the year - either 1963, 1968, 1978, or 1983 (I have, or will have them all!)

• SF Form 91 - Operator's Report of Motor Vehicle Accident dated 11/76, one page folded cardstock. You get two of these plus two yellow cardstock accident identification cards (small size). Hopefully you'll never have to use them.

• DD Form 1970 - Motor Equipment Utilization record log paper. Normal paper folded in half. You get five of these.

• Lubrication order LO 9-2320-218-12 - basic lubrication orders, differing sizes (if too big they are scaled to fit in binder). They are laminated. Can get you lube orders from 1966, 1978, or 1983.

They will come in a camo binder like the one pictured above - it may not have the embossing like on my original but rather much easier to read white text. These might get pricy to get custom made.... :(

That's all for now...

What you have there is nice, except it is all later 1975 plus stuff. Pre 75, the correct binder is solid green and is a three ring. Plus they use to have what was called ESC Equipment Serviceability Criteria for each type of vehicle. Depending on how the vehicles condition, after checking it out (PMCS), it fell into a Red, Amber, or Green status. Now if you can find an old ESC for the M151 series vehicle you will have something. What are the dates listed on the bottom of the forms?

1970, 11/76 - the mutt it is from was probably brand new bought by a military surplus store in around 1978 or around there - didn't have to be demilled or anything.

Will continue to look for what you just referred to. I see what you are referring to in the 1971 Safe Operation of M151 video from Vintage Video... I have a binder like that but it's operator manual size and pretty high (2 inches). Has piano hinges on it...

Just stumbled across them...
There have been some advertised in the past (my ads in the last year) and by a g503 guy who sold me the 12 he had advertised. These are the newer type and had all the original information from the maintenance and safety checks as well as the entire history packet up to and including the date turned in for transport to a disposal facility (crusher?). Many of the ones I had originally were scrapped out at Ft. McCoy WI in the late 1980's to the mid 1990's. Sad sight to say the least.
The gent was correct in that the older version was a 3 ring binder type and made it a bitch to close the flap when the rings were up. It had to go in with the rings down to secure the flap.
The newer ones are handy and more secure to use to keep stuff from getting wet when caught in those topless rainy situations.
